The Sky is White as Swans

Oil on canvas, 90x190 cm, 2023 /// Ilze Laizāne (1966) graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia in three visual art departments. She has organized 27 personal exhibitions, participated in 38 group exhibitions, and has been represented several times at European art fairs. The painter’s works have been exhibited at the King House Gallery in London and group exhibitions in Italy and Germany. Works are in private collections in Latvia, the USA, Germany, China, and Spain. An expressive figurative composition and an experienced use of colours characterize the painter’s style. The artist draws her inspiration from nature and the emotional and spiritual world of man. The images and motifs in the paintings are symbolic, sometimes mystical and mysterious. The poetic work is from the artist’s latest series of paintings, “Flight”. The artist’s signature is in the lower right, dated on the back of the painting.
