Art Platz Auction Highlights for August 2024 showcases the works of the notable colourist Valdis Bušs. With his expressive use of colour and the virtuosity of his brushstrokes, the artist created works evoking different moods and feelings. In his depiction of Sloka in 1977, Bušs created a strong and emotional painting, while 12 years later, in 1989, playing with colour, he achieved a laconic but vibrant view of the city. Both works, “Sloka” (Lot 2024/0309) and “Sloka” (Lot 2022/0121), are available for bidding online.
