Recomendet

Description

2011, oil on cardboard, 88x67 cm /// The style of painter Edgars Vinters (1919–2014) is characterised by a blend of realism and impressionism. The depiction of nature in different seasons is a persistent theme in the artist's work. The composition is structured in accordance with the basic principles of classical landscape construction dividing it into several plans creating depth and spatiality. Trees on both sides of the paintings are arranged in groups in the foreground there is an illuminated area filled with sunlight. Several light shades of green have been used to depict the nature of spring. The shapes are modelled with small, fine brushstrokes and lines giving the composition elegance and lightness. Following the tradition of Impressionism, the depiction of light is important especially the flicker of sunlight through the foliage of trees. /// The artist's signature and date are on the lower right side of the painting.
