Tree Near the River

Oil on cardboard, 45x60 cm /// The style of painter Edgars Vinters (1919–2014) is characterised by a blend of realism and impressionism. A landscape in which the tree is chosen as the central motif. A clearly and intelligibly formed composition, characterised by sequentially arranged elements and their proportions. The shapes of the depicted objects are modelled precisely, the artist has paid attention to certain details for which representation a small brush strokes have been used. The colours are used with the same intensity and nuanced shade transition, which makes the painting unified and homogenous. The surface of the painting overall is smoothed, in some places slightly thickened brushstrokes are used thus emphasizing the materiality of the depicted objects. The air atmosphere used as one of the means of artistic expression thus giving the painting a poetic mood. /// The artist's signature and date are on the lower left side of the painting.
