Description

2020, acrylic on canvas, 60x130 cm /// Dina Ābele (1969) is a Latvian painter and lecturer at the Art Academy of Latvia. She has studied textile art, graphics, and painting. She regularly organises solo exhibitions and is a laureate of international art and design competitions. Her artistic style is diverse – she creates both abstract and figurative compositions, often incorporating various elements to enhance the texture and dimensionality of her paintings. Her works are characterised by vibrant colours, purity of form, and clarity of composition. Behind each painting lies emotion and a story. The titles given by the artist also play an important role, drawing the viewer closer to the hidden essence of the artwork. A work of art to which the author has given a poetic title. The painting is permeated by the metaphysical flow of colour and peace. With meditative observation, the work of art invites the viewer to sink into it. The artist highlights the aesthetic properties of colour and its psychological effects. The painting is made of small, stacked strokes, thus giving the texture expressiveness and creating a flickering surface effect. The gradations of the tones are laid evenly gradually, revealing the emotional scope of turquoise and azure. /// The artist's signature and dating on the lower right side of the painting.
