Toned down colours are used to enhance the mood of the evening, as well as the dark sky. The artist highlights the rendition of snow materiality by using several shades of white, with an extended stokes applied lines of green, blue, and grey, thus giving the volume and texture to the depicted elements. Compared to other works, Bušs has sticked to a more ascetic colour palette, avoiding very strong and bold colour contrasts. The artist's signature and dating on the lower left side of the painting.
