Paper, ink, nib pen, 51x52,5 cm, 1986 /// Kārlis Dobrājs (1943) is one of the classics of Latvian painting. His style is characterized by the quality of the academic drawing, the emphasis placed on form and volume of the depicted objects. In his career the artist has also created works in manual graphics technique and has won several art awards. In his graphic series he has captured landscapes from places where he once went for plein air sessions. The drawing is created in ink technique, in which captured Kolka – a place in seashore of Kurzeme. The artist’s signature in two places on the lower right side, title and dating on the lower left side, but dating on centre.
