How the Kangari Mountains Formed
Description
1989-1990, tempera, watercolour, paper, 27x19,5 cm /// In the illustration the man carrying the sandbag is God. The folktale tells that God put a pile of sand in the middle of the Lubana lake so that people don't have to go around it. Lake did not like it so it rose up to the sky. Lake was up in the air until a girl had guessed its name. So it happened that the lake landed between the Kangari mountains. The picture is dominated by pale blue and beige brown tones, typical for many of K. Dobray's illustrations.
