A unique artwork, “Autumn. The Author’s Copy from the 1970”, by the famous classic Latvian painter Karlis Dobrajs (1943), is now available at the Art Platz Auction online auction. The painting has experienced its renaissance after 50 years; the author’s copy was painted in 2021, while the original in 1970 brought the painter international recognition. Monumentality, academic mastery and nuanced colouring are the qualities that characterize this artwork. Dobrajs’ paintings are inspired by humanity and local nature, permeated by personally close symbols and attitudes. The apple tree has a special place in the artist’s life, more detailed he explained in a short video interview, which is available on the Art Platz Gallery Facebook profile and YouTube channel.
The painting “Autumn. The Author’s Copy from the 1970” is one of the significant works of Kalis Dobrajs’ latest solo exhibition, “The Garden of Life”, and can be viewed in September and October at the Art Platz Gallery on 4 Alberta Street, Riga.
